Q3 Update for DFW Young & Social
Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well as we transition into fall. Just like with our past updates, we’re staying committed to being transparent and keeping you all in the loop as we continue to grow and evolve. We’ve have some big changes this quarter, and we’re excited to share what’s new.
Multi-Packs Adjustments
Starting now, our multi-packs will only be valid for classes, crafting events, and other art activities. This change helps us better manage costs for different types of events. Some events, like Move & Mingle, will be priced lower, while others, like our big Masquerade, come with higher costs. Sticking to the $15 punch price was limiting our ability to make these events as great as they can be.
You can still use your multi-pack for any social events priced at or under $15, but we won’t be able to refund any difference if the event costs less. Consider it a little extra donation to the club, and we appreciate it! However, for social events priced above $15, multi-packs won’t apply due to the price differences that help us cover costs.
Monthly Event Shifts
Starting in November, we’ll be shifting around some of our regular events. Here’s what’s changing:
Move & Mingle is moving to the first Saturday of every month from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with the dance lesson being held from 7:15 PM to 7:45 PM. For November specifically we will be doing Disco Night Theme (aka the 70’s) with a Hustle lesson.
Karaoke Potluck will now be on the second Friday at the same time.
Social Board Game Night moves to the third Friday at the same time.
Changes to Move & Mingle
We’ve also made a few tweaks to Move & Mingle, including:
Lowering the entry cost to $10.
Offering free admission to anyone who attends a dance class earlier that day (Bachata or Two-Step currently but if the schedule changes those would be included as well).
We are moving away from free concessions. Water will still be available at no cost, but snacks, beverages, and other goodies will now be priced between $1-$2 to cover the costs of stocking them.
With these changes, we’ll be canceling the intermediate Country Two-Step class (or any class in that time slot) once a month to give everyone a little break, grab dinner, or just relax before Move & Mingle.
Future Plans
Looking ahead, we’re exploring partnerships with local businesses and community groups to help fund the work we’re doing here at DFW Young & Social. We’re very selective about who we partner with because we want to ensure their values align with ours. The goal is to keep supporting our fitness classes, Zumba, and free events while continuing to keep costs low for everyone. Subsidizing some of our fixed and variable costs through partnerships will be a big help in making this happen!
What’s Next?
Well, that’s the fun part! There’s always something new on the horizon. We’re constantly looking to mix up our fitness, dance, and other classes to keep things fresh. But we could use your help! If you have any ideas or something you’d like to see, don’t hesitate to let us know. We have plenty of energy to try new things, but truth be told, Alexi and I are finding it tough to keep the creativity up since we’re handling logistics, class planning, and other Wizard of Oz magic in the background. Your support and suggestions mean the world!
Thanks for being part of this amazing journey with us. As always, your enthusiasm keeps us going, and we’re so excited for what’s to come!
