Q1 - Updates and Future Plans for DFW Young & Social

Howdy Y’all,

As we continue to grow and evolve, we want to keep you in the loop about some important changes to our memberships, our membership system and give you a sneak peek into our future plans.

Streamlining Our System:

First things first, we're streamlining our membership system to make things easier. Previously, we were juggling between Squarespace for processing monthly subscriptions and our PushPress Member Management system, which, let's be honest, was a bit of a headache. To cut down on the manual changes and improve overall experience, we're transitioning all member management to PushPress. If you originally purchased through Squarespace, your subscription will not renew automatically, and you'll need to re-setup in PushPress. The link on Membership Main Page, are updated and will take you to there to finalize. We understand this might be a bit inconvenient, but trust us, it's a move towards a smoother experience for everyone. Especially as they add more features that create a more holistic experience.

Membership Adjustments:

We are making some adjustments to our membership levels. When we first rolled out our memberships, we aimed for simplicity in messaging and creation. We quickly realized it is not feasible to have some of the combination of specific benefits. Here's what's changing:

  • Explorer: No longer includes a 10% discount across all offerings and will retain a 10% discount on dance classes & passes.

  • Adventurer: Discount for all offerings will be splitting.  A 10% discount will be available for all non-dance classes and merchandise. A 15% discount will be available on dance classes & passes. The “Class Passes do not expire” perk is being removed from this tier.

  • Pioneer: Discounts will continue the same trend. A 15% discount will be available for all non-dance classes and merchandise. A 20% discount will be available on dance classes & passes. The number of free tier-2 events is reduced from 4 to 3.

These changes will take effect on April 1st, and we don't anticipate any further adjustments in the near future.

Security Measures:

Your safety is our top priority, so we're beefing up our security at the club and in our systems. We're installing security cameras inside the building, at the front doors and back doors. Plus, all members, temporary members, and dance class guests will be required to have a profile in our PushPress system for guest tracking. We've been fortunate not to have any issues so far (thanks to you!), but we want to be prepared to assist if anything does happen.

Member Partnered Events Updates:

In the spirit of transparency, we want to share that we are shifting our member partnered events compensation, to 10% gross proceeds credit for member-partnered events only. This is a step towards sustainability, especially for experimental events. Allowing us to embrace a wider variety of events, including those that may attract smaller crowds, without compromising our financial stability when acquiring equipment and materials. We want to create a balanced environment where we can explore new ideas and experiences together; ensuring longevity and diversity of our community's offerings.

Dance Class Pass Updates:

We're making a slight adjustment to our class pass pricing. The 3-class pass will be raised from $30 to $36. This change is designed to better reflect the value of our offerings and create a more balanced pricing structure. We've noticed that with the current pricing, there's little incentive to choose between two classes or the 3-class pass. By adjusting the price, we aim to provide a clearer choice and maintain the quality and variety of our classes. This is all part of our ongoing effort to ensure sustainability and continue bringing diverse and enriching experiences to our community.

Space Updates:

We've been gradually upgrading our space, and we're thrilled with the progress. The lobby is almost complete, the arcade room is coming along with new cabinets and a pinball machine arriving on Friday. The billiards room is functional but still a work in progress that requires more decorations. We're also planning a non-alcoholic speakeasy with a unique vibe, which will be available during specific events. When not in “official” use it will be available for people to mingle and hang out in.

Future Plans:

Looking ahead, we're exploring new events and ideas that will benefit all our members, including exclusive events for subscribed members. We're also considering expanding into the “third space” concept and coworking. This would require additional resources but is an exciting possibility for our subscribed members.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the support you've given us as we launch our new space, memberships, and events. Your feedback and ideas are invaluable to us, so please don't hesitate to reach out via email at info@dfwyas.com or on Discord.

We wouldn't be where we are without you, thank you for being a part of our journey, and stay tuned for more updates!
