What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?

Before I went into the field of Audiovisual/Live Event Production Full-Time, I had a long history of creative endeavors.  I produced and directed award-winning local TV shows in NY, worked in a fine art holography laboratory and gallery, was an assistant to several artists, performed in musicals, worked as a private chef, performed stand-up comedy, and played musical instruments.

What’s the last book you read?

Currently in the middle of a pile of books on global economics, business strategy, and nutrition.

Are you currently binge-watching any shows?

If we’re talking Netflix, amidst my break from the Star Trek franchise, I just finished Ugly Betty and the latest season of Fargo.  I’m currently working my way through Seinfeld, as I never watched it growing up.  I am also patiently waiting for new seasons of Call the Midwife, Love on the Spectrum, and Big Mouth.

Favorite DFW YAS event so far?

The “At the Movies Social”.  It was the first of many dance socials I’ve enjoyed with this group

Karen hiking in nature - Embracing the great outdoors and adventure

Favorite hobby?

Hiking is my go-to activity. There's something incredibly peaceful about being surrounded by nature and exploring new trails.

Favorite place you’ve traveled?

The (Peruvian) Amazon.  It felt more like home than anywhere else I’ve ever been.

Favorite motto or quote?

I believe in making the most of all situations, that someone always has it worse than you, be grateful for what you have, give without expecting in return (except at work ), and that all deserve forgiveness but not necessarily trust.  And food, laughter, and dance are the best medicine!
