Waltz Thursday

  • Milaana Dance Plano 2963 West 15th Street #2973 Plano, TX, 75075 United States (map)

Ready to soar and twirl around the dance floor like a star in a movie scene? (And, as always, make new friends?)

Come join us for Waltz Thursdays! Gorgeous, swirling, and dreamlike, the Waltz feels like flying with your feet on the ground.

You don’t have to bring a partner! We rotate throughout the classes, so everyone gets plenty of opportunities to dance and meet new people.

***We have TWO levels now—see below!***

Level 1 (8:00pm):
If you're new to the Waltz, or if you don't feel confident about your steps yet, don't worry—this class is designed so that you can drop in comfortably even if you haven't joined us before. Each class covers a rotating selection of moves, and it's all beginner friendly!

Level 2 (7:00pm):
If you're an experienced dancer, come talk to us! We have an intermediate/advanced class with our group the hour before our beginner class. This is a faster-paced, progressive class, so you will need a firm understanding of at least the Bronze I & Bronze II figures to comfortably join in.

All new people dancing the follower's role and rotating partners get 50% off their first class. Purchase must be made in person during check-in.

Important Info:
Cost: $12 per person, per class, or $20 for both***
6:45pm: Check-in and mingle!
7:00pm: Intermediate Waltz Class starts
7:45pm: Check-in for Beginner Waltz
8:00pm: Beginner Waltz Class starts

DFW Young & Social Eventbrite

We also offer two different class passes for sale! Each pass will be valid for 30 days after purchase.

  • 6 Class Pass for $45

  • 3 Class Pass for $30

All passes must be purchased in person. Cost of the ticket you purchased can be applied to the cost of a dance pass on the day you attend the class. Previous classes cannot be retroactively applied.

Please use our discord server for all day of event communications and also to find us if you're running late! Just a reminder, though, that reception isn't guaranteed, and we try to be present with everyone while the event is running (e.g, we won't be on our phones constantly.)

What to Wear:
Clothing:
There's no formal dress code, but wear something you feel comfortable moving in! Women often wear blouses and slacks, or dresses (if the skirt flares, or is extra short, I recommend shorts underneath!) Men often wear button-downs and slacks. Dress up if you like, no pressure if you don't!

Shoes:
Smooth-soled shoes are best. Comfortable dress shoes often work well for men, but something like keds is a pretty good option. Women often wear heels; however, unless it has an ankle strap and sturdy heel, I wouldn't recommend it. Character shoes are perfect!

Avoid:
Anything with heavy tread, flip flops, sandals, stilettos, slingbacks, and platforms.
