Hike at Dinosaur Valley State Park

  • Dinosaur Valley State Park 1629 Park Road 59 Glen Rose, TX, 76043 United States (map)

Let's take advantage of the lovely autumn weather and hit up a hiking location every Texan should experience at least once...Dinosaur Valley State Park! It's a bit of a drive, but it is a gorgeous location with plenty of hiking trails and—depending on trail closures for a given day—actual dinosaur footprints preserved in the park!

Important Info:

  • Entrance is $8 dollars per adult and can be purchased at the Texas State Park Website Here.

  • We will meet at Trail heads that can be located here. Make sure to join our discord for all day of event communications.

  • There is little to no cell reception, make sure to arrive with the 20-minute grace period.

Trail Info:

We will be combining a few trails to make a moderate challenge loop that is 3.78 miles with 800 ft of elevation. It should take us about 2 hours, here are the trails we will take and the map I will use:

  • Outer Trail Loop (.11 miles)

  • Limestone Ledge Trail (.4 miles)

  • Overlook Trail (.47 miles)

  • Black-capped Vireo Trail (2 miles)

  • Limestone Ledge Trail (.71 Miles)

  • Paluxy River Trail (.09 miles)
