Welcome to our captivating Book Club at La Madeleine! Each session, we immerse ourselves in the rich tapestry of a selected novel, uncovering layers and sharing perspectives. This time, we're delving into Naomi Novik's Spinning Silver, a spellbinding tale that weaves together magic, courage, and transformation. Join us as we explore this reimagined fairy tale, where three young women defy a world of icy challenges and unfathomable powers. We'll unravel the threads of this intricately spun story, from its frosty, Eastern European-inspired setting to its compelling characters who turn the silver of fate into gold.
Important Note: We will have a space reserved at La Madeleine that holds up to 30 people. Once you arrive, feel free to come directly to the room to place your things down before ordering any delectable treats, food or beverages!
Schedule:
6:30 to 7:00 - Arrive, socialize and order any food, drinks or snacks.
7:00 to 7:15 - Read the first two chapters together to kick off the series. (Feel free to read this ahead of time if you prefer).
7:15 to 8:00 - Discuss the introduction of the book and talk about the how the book club looks moving forward.
