Meet Nikki our outstanding member of the month for June 2024.

Long day, long week…what’s your go-to comfort food? 

As a foodie, this is a really hard question. Sushi. Hamburgers. Brownies. Ice cream. Just not pizza! (more on this later)

When words fail, music speaks…or so they say. Any songs been tickling your eardrums lately? 

Anything by Corpse Husband really scratches an itch in my brain.

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that might surprise people? 

I opened a restaurant when I was 25 with a friend, and we ran it for 3 years, making it through COVID before selling it. The Bear made me puke due to secondhand anxiety, but I cannot wait for season 3.

Next place on your travel bucket list? Why? 

Croatia. Beautiful, all the perks of the mediterranean without needing to deal with the crowds of Italy or Greece. Actual travel? Northern Scotland for Christmas to visit the in-laws.

What’s your perfect day off of work? 

I'm a huge fan of a good rot-day spent on the couch, watching through my ever growing "Watch later" list on youtube, crafting and reading - OR - having a "treat yo'self" day at target.

What’s the first concert you ever attended? 

I don't even remember it, but my parents will tell you it was Trisha Yearwood at a strawberry festival in Florida. The first one I remember was a small symphony performance in Garland, the most favorite was Selena Gomez with my best friend.

Favorite DFW Young & Social event so far? 

I love the crafting events, and really enjoyed the dog park meetup, because it let my fur-baby get some of his seemingly never ending energy out.

Do you have any passion projects or side gigs? 

What. A. Question. Yes. as someone with ADHD who functions best in complete madness, outside of my day job I do:

• Running an online book boutique with a few local pop up events a year (litloveshop.com)

• THE GNOMES - the gnome adoption agency with my husband (@gnomeadoptionagency)
